  63. and accessories for the entire Lee-Enfield family.

  65. [BEN: I ordered their $3 catalog, and was somewhat disappointed. With my 
  66.  check for $3, I enclosed a letter inquiring about certain specific 
  67.  parts and items. About three weeks later an oversized envelope from 
  68.  them arrived in the mail. Inside was *no* acknowledgement of my 
  69.  inquiry letter whatsoever, but only a poorly-xeroxed folded/stapled 
  70.  pamphlet, comprising perhaps 20 pages, filled with lists of parts for 
  71.  Enfields & Webleys, plus complete guns, books, and "sharp things" (as 
  72.  they called knives and bayonets - what pooftahs!). Parts prices were 
  73.  comparable with Springfield Sporters, but with "o/s" (out of stock) 
  74.  hand-marked next to most of the popular stuff (like #2 and #3 boltheads 
  75.  for No4 Enfields). Other prices were outrageous - such as the No4 MkII 
  76.  rifles they were offering, at *wholesale* (FFL) prices much higher than 
  77.  most people's RETAIL prices! This "catalog", the first page informed 
  78.  me, is published monthly (with a similar catalog quarterly - never did 
  79.  quite figure that out) and a "year's subscription" costs about $15. 
  80.  Yeah, right. Also, their shipping "terms and conditions" (and charges) 
  81.  are quite convoluted and *not* at all favorable for someone who just 
  82.  needs one or two small parts. I'm told that this company makes 
  83.  appearances at large gun shows.  Well, perhaps that's the best way to 
  84.  buy from them. In my case, I was *negatively* enough impressed with 
  85.  their ignoring my inquiry, as well as daring to ask $3 for this cheesy 
  86.  Xeroxed pamphlet, plus the inflated prices and general silliness of 
  87.  their ad copy ("sharp things"), that I think I'll be giving Victoria's 
  88.  (Secret) Trading Company the 'El Paso' from now on...]

  136. [BEN: This company has been around for quite a while, has an excellent 
  137.  reputation, and carries most, if not all, of the really *great* Enfield 
  138.  references and classics, along with military manuals and so forth. They 
  139.  don't mention a catalog, but I'll bet they have one! This is also the 
  140.  main source for Ian Skennerton's *renowned* books on British militaria, 
  141.  especially "The Lee-Enfield Story". Expensive, but awesome!]
